Privacy policy.
Commodity Trading Intel operates an advisory practice built on confidentiality. The information organisations share during platform selection is commercially sensitive by nature. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the safeguards in place.
Who we are
Commodity Trading Intel (CTI) is an independent ETRM and CTRM selection intelligence practice. Our website is operated from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. For any privacy question or request, contact enquiries@commoditytradingintel.com.
Information we collect
We only collect information that is necessary to respond to enquiries, run the Navigator assessment, and operate this website.
- Enquiry form submissions: name, company, role, work email, and the details you share about your platform evaluation.
- Navigator assessments: the responses your team provides during the assessment, together with the account identifiers required to access the tool.
- Website analytics: aggregated, anonymised usage data via Google Analytics 4, including pages viewed, referring source, approximate region, and device category. IP addresses are anonymised at collection.
- Operational logs: technical logs generated by our hosting provider when you visit the site, used to detect abuse and maintain service availability.
How we use information
- Respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
- Deliver and operate the Navigator, including producing your intelligence report.
- Maintain the security and integrity of our systems.
- Improve the website and understand how visitors engage with our content.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share client assessment responses with vendors, implementation partners, or any third party outside the service providers listed below.
Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interest for responding to business enquiries and operating the website, contract performance for delivering the Navigator, and consent for non-essential analytics where required by local regulation.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers, each selected for their security posture and relevance to the service.
- Vercel (website hosting).
- Supabase (Navigator data storage and authentication).
- Resend (transactional email delivery for enquiry notifications).
- Google Analytics 4 (aggregated website analytics).
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual terms that require appropriate security and confidentiality. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Retention
Enquiry submissions are retained for as long as they are needed to respond to the enquiry and to maintain a record of the engagement. Navigator assessment data is retained for the duration of the engagement and a reasonable period thereafter to support report delivery and any follow-up questions. You can request earlier deletion at any time.
Security
We apply technical and organisational safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the information. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is restricted to personnel who require it to deliver the service. Confidentiality is a core operating principle, not a compliance afterthought.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact enquiries@commoditytradingintel.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and at no cost, except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in jurisdictions other than your own, including Canada, the United States, and the European Union. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
The website uses a minimal set of cookies. Essential cookies support site operation. Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics help us understand aggregate usage. Where local regulation requires, a consent prompt is shown before non-essential cookies are set.
Children
CTI's services are directed at commercial organisations. The website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change or when required by law. The date at the top of the policy reflects the most recent revision.
